Answering Common Questions on Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry

Do you accept referrals?

We’re happy to accept referrals from other dental offices as well as from recommendations by our patients to their family and friends. We request that a patient evaluation form be completed prior to the first visit. We also require that all records and x-rays be forwarded to our office.

Do you accept my insurance plan?

Yes. Your insurance policy, however, is a contract between you and your insurance company. We are not a party to that contract. Full payment is due at the time of dental service, but we will help you file your claim with the insurance company. The assignment of benefits goes directly to you.

Will I be charged if I need to cancel an appointment?

We do not charge for a cancelled appointment, but please give us 24-hour’s notice.

What do I do if I have an emergency when the office is closed?

Please call 469-363-5345.

What payment options do you provide?

Third party financing (a loan) is available through the Dental Fee Plan for an extensive treatment plan that requires additional financing. Please let us know ahead of time if you wish to apply for this service.

What makes you different than any other dental practice I can visit?

Our slogan is “Beautiful care brings a smile to your face.” Not only do we offer skilled, professional dental care, but we do it in an atmosphere of practicing the Golden Rule. We take the time to get to know you and to listen to your needs and concerns.

My breath smells terribly, but I brush everyday. What can I do about it?

Millions of people struggle with halitosis, or bad breath, despite daily teeth brushing. Here’s a checklist of procedures that can eliminate the problem: twice daily brushing, daily flossing, and tongue cleaning; regular professional cleanings, and careful cleaning of any dentures or removable dental appliances. However, if your hygiene is meticulous and the problem persists, we can offer several solutions. First, we can provide a plastic tool called a tongue scraper that cleans away bacterial build-up on your tongue and significantly alleviates odor. Or, we can recommend a specially-prepared breath treatment system called Breath Rx, designed to actually break the odor-causing sulfur bonds that cause bad breath. Finally, we may also suspect a systemic or internal problem such as an infection or underlying condition, in which case we may recommend a visit with your family physician or specialist to identify the cause. And being diligent about getting your regular checkups with us will help, since we check the health of your gums through charting during each checkup.
